Life In The Tubes

Michael Bailey of MobaTalk drops back into the studio this week to show us MobaTalk 2.0, he last was on showing us the alpha of the “Conversation Studio”. He and Tom demo off the latest version and discuss it’s potential in communication online.

Also, things change a bit behind the scenes of Life in the Tubes, Brian Caylor moves to California but will continue to edit and T-Rave will take over as the new camera-man (He also gives us a special introduction!).

This week Tom tells us of his SXSW adventures, including a look at the zombie social networking site lostzombies.com. Chris then teaches us a new trick in the Twitter preferences that you may not have known about and then answer our first viewer question!

In this episode a robot named SAM drops by the studio to share with us his latest project in beta, Geekvolution, a social networking site for people with geeky interests. Tom then talks about a cool way of using pictures posted on Twitter as a screen saver.

In this week’s episode Tom is out sick, but never fear, producer Brian Caylor steps out from behind the camera to help Chris co-host and talk about a continuing issue of internet privacy and Facebook. Brian gives us some options for filing your own taxes this year to save some money and Chris shares with us the fascination of SecretTweet.

We had a great opportunity to do a video chat interview with Frank Eliason (aka @comcastcares on twitter). Chris gets answers from Frank on things such as “why comcastcares?” to “is there any throttling of bandwidth on Comcast?”. Tom and Chris start off the episode discussing the latest DM Fail incident, then Tom starts a new segment called Social Media 101 to breakdown Facebook for new users to social networking. Chris then talks about a possible Pownce replacement service called Soup.io. Check it out!
